Western Landscape Painter & Muralist

Edgar Alwin Payne (1883-1947) was an American painter known for his Western landscapes and murals. He specialized in the composition of outdoor painting and in 1941 published his book, Composition of Outdoor Painting, now in its seventh edition. It is still considered a must for art collectors, artists, teachers, and art dealers.
